It's often said that style is simply something you have. I see it differently; I feel like it's something you build and regain over time, especially when you've spent years wearing things that were merely adequate.
Because style doesn't start in the closet, and it never did. It starts in the mind, often when we're tired of constantly fitting into clothes that were never really meant for us, just for the moment, for now, to somehow feel okay.
For tall women, this experience is especially familiar. Years of wearing clothes that, well, are just so-so. They seem long, they seem to fit, they seem okay, but always with a slight question mark. And then suddenly you come across clothes designed precisely for your proportions, and it turns out you have to get used to it, learn to wear things that fit well. You have to change your attitude about your height, accept it. Then the magic happens, and your wardrobe begins to build itself anew.
Style doesn't emerge suddenly. It's a process that begins with mindfulness. By looking at what catches the eye, what makes you feel relaxed rather than controlled, and where you stop thinking about sleeves, legs, waist placement, or the right length of a blouse so it doesn't fall out of your pants.
Then come the trials, the fittings, sometimes the surprise, the euphoria, because the leg finally reaches the floor, and sometimes, quite the opposite, the disappointment, because it's not the style for me after all. But don't worry, all of this is a natural part of your journey to your own style.
Somewhere along the way, slowly, a wardrobe emerges that begins to delight the heart. With a wow factor and the feeling that you can simply get dressed and go. Shirt and trousers, ready-made outfits that match. Outfits that don't require negotiating with the mirror at seven in the morning.
Style as an everyday reality for a tall woman
For me, style has little to do with fashion. It's more about a daily conversation with myself about who I am now, how I want to feel in my everyday life, and what I'm in the mood for today. Do I want to shine and turn heads, or do I want to wrap myself in comfort and blend in with the crowd?
Style is about clothes that don't drain your energy, but organize it and leave room for more important things. At TALLKA, I often see tall women re-learn their style, without "somehow," without stress, and without constantly shrinking. Take it easy, step by step, starting with pieces that truly suit your figure, your mood, and your day.
I'm curious how it is for you and whether you feel like your style has already been developed or if you're just starting to regain it.

Pięknie to ująłeś. Też uczę się wybierać rzeczy które mnie nie męczą, tylko wspierają w codzienności.
