Everyday life is the best test for clothes
Yesterday on Instagram, I showed Agata and her everyday outfits. Completely casual, for work, without posing or "special occasions." And that's where I want to start, because it's the best starting point for a conversation about why TALLKA clothes stay with you every day.
It's not a matter of trends or "good style." It's about very specific design decisions and the experience behind each form. Everyday wear can't just be pretty. It must be well-fitting and comfortable in real life.
Agata is 181 cm tall and a teacher. Since the brand's inception, she's worn TALLKA clothes to work every day. Not because she's testing anything or because it's the right thing to do, although yes, she's also my sister 😉 Simply because these clothes work.
If you put something on in the morning without thinking, spend the whole day in it, and still feel good in the evening, then you've got it. Everyday life is the best test for clothes, and there's no way to fake it.
Proportions are more important than length alone
I often hear that the problem for tall women is length. And of course, length is important, but that's just the beginning. It's really about proportions. Where the waist falls, where the hips are, where the knees fall, whether the sleeves end where they should, and whether the clothing fits the body rather than dragging it down or making it look shorter.
When designing, I think about the silhouette as a whole and about movement. I think about how the clothes look after a few hours of wearing them, how you feel in them when you're sitting, walking, working, and returning home. These aren't clothes that need constant readjustment or checking in the mirror. They're meant to simply be with you, not distract you from your duties or pleasures.
Long and SuperLong – lengths that give you peace of mind
That's why TALLKA has different lengths. Long and SuperLong didn't appear because they sound good, but because women have different heights.
Kasia is 187 cm and wears SuperLong.
Ewa is 185 cm and Long is perfect for her.
For them, and for many other women, this is the first time their pants don't end up "in the basement" and aren't "almost good" 🙄. And that's where the difference becomes apparent.
You stop fumbling, you stop wondering if the pant leg will ride up or the sleeve will be too short again. You just leave the house.
Why it's worth looking good at home too
There's one more thing that's rarely talked about, but which is very important to me: Home.
Over the years, many of us have become accustomed to the idea that "just enough" is enough at home. That we'll be comfortable, however sloppy. Sometimes, in clothes that look like they belonged to our younger sister and should have been thrown away long ago.
Yet, it's at home that we spend most of our time. It's where we drink our morning coffee, experience our sorrows and joys. We work, rest, and spend our ordinary days.
Dressing well at home isn't a whim or vanity. It's about self-respect. It's not about elegance, but about seeing yourself when you look in the mirror, not a random outfit. Celebrating a day doesn't have to be limited to special occasions. Every day, every moment, is reason enough.
These aren't special occasion clothes. They're basics.
